40 years ago a dream was born:

As the young recently graduated Brazilian/American architect and educator Jeanne Marie White visited this area and found this jewel, had a inner call to buy, recover and preserve this paradise of 170 acres.

In 2019, this property has been certified as

RPPN - Private Natural Heritage Property for its environmental preservation, biodiversity and important location.

THE ECOVILLA CARAÍVAS

In 2004, the Caraivas Ecovillage, a Retreat Center and Bed & Breakfast, was designed and built, with sustainable architectural solutions that respect the preservation of the cerrado, to receive visitors and participants for ecotourism, courses, yoga and meditation retreats, cycling and environmental education about the Cerrado.

Today it offers:

Nine charming and cozy cottages w/ private kitchens, utensils and appliances, that accommodate up to 25 people.

Recreation area with a community hall and kitchen, bathroom, swimming pool, sauna, therapeutic tubs, a massage tent by the crystalline stream.

Service area contains a laundry room, furniture storage room, and tools shed.

Infrastructure: Electricity and water systems (a waterwheel, set by the river shores, supplies water to fill two water tanks with a capacity for 15,000 liters from where the water is distributed to all property), fiber optics internet, road, gate, fences and trails.
